Commercial Large Lines Assistant Account Executive


Lake Success, NY


Summary/Objective:

Commercial Large Lines Assistant Account Executive, reporting to the department manager, as well as 2 to 3 Large Lines Account Executives, will be responsible for supporting the process used to service and market new and renewal accounts. The incumbent will provide support to the Account Executives in processing all lines of commercial insurance; as well as, be responsible for managing the cancellation process for the department.

Essential Functions:

Build and maintain relationships with Commercial Large Lines clients. Assist in the process of managing accounts in accordance with agency standards and workflows. Process applications, binders, Certificates of Insurance and other daily service needs as assigned. Assist with maintaining client files on the agency management system, Sagitta, as well as, the agency document management system, ImageRight. Support all key servicing aspects of accounts; including renewals, endorsements, certificates, cancellations, and audits. Assure all responsibilities are in compliance with company guidelines and procedures. Utilize courteous, professional phone techniques and service to clients, carriers and office staff. Special projects and other job-related duties as assigned. Assist in the management of client billing. Complete other related duties as assigned.

Experience:

NY Property and Casualty License (may be obtained within 1 year of hire)

Property and Casualty industry experience

Four Year College Degree with a focus on Insurance/Risk Management

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word and Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.

Commercial Large Lines Account Executive

Summary/Objective:

The Large Lines Account Executive services multiline commercial accounts in accordance with Rampart’s objectives and procedures. Those Account Executives are assigned to Large Lines generally service accounts greater than $150,000.00 in premium.

Essential Functions:

Account Servicing: Manage, underwrite, market and service accounts as assigned. Assist other Account Executives as needed. Responsible for maintaining and/or offering the most comprehensive insurance offerings available. Compile and maintain all client related information. Process all insurance transactions; ensuring compliance with departmental and company wide procedures and guidelines. Assure that coverage is maintained at all times; help clients avoid late payments or possible cancellations. Resolve coverage issues or problems. Work with producers to enhance client development and service. Accept, price and bind insurance within underwriting authority. Examine and evaluate documents such as application forms, inspections reports, product brochures, financial reports and other data to determine degree of risk, underwriting and market selection. Handle New Business submissions. Develop, analyze, market and recommend a competitive insurance program providing various alternatives for client consideration. Manage workflow of your account split. May be required to assist with other accounts as needed.

Relationship Manager: The Account Executive is a point of contact for assistants, insured’s, producers and carriers. Responsible for Quality Assurance on his/her accounts. Provide guidance, assistance and training to the Assistant Account Executive. Maintain high relationships at all times.

Documentation Procedures: Meets all procedural documentation standards. Maintain continuity, uniform procedures and agency-wide communication with regard to documentation and underwriting. Enter and maintain client data in Sagitta, ImageRight, and Salesforce. Complies with all PAR standards as set forth by the Department Manager. Passes all Departmental and PAR audits. Conducts periodic self-reviews. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all endorsements, contracts, forms, etc., necessary to do business.

Experience:

5 to 7 years experience in Commercial Lines in an underwriting or account executive capacity

Proven underwriting, producer management, carrier management and managing junior personnel

BA in business, insurance or related field

Previous insurance industry experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree

NYS Property and Casualty Broker License

CPCU/CIC preferred

Personal Lines VIP Account Executive

Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers. Make and receive calls from customers assisting them with their questions and resolving problems as appropriate. Make and receive calls from customers to facilitate personal insurance quotes. Handle policy maintenance (new, renewal, changes, binders, etc.) done in Sagitta in a timely manner. Assure that coverage is maintained at all times and/or management notified if there are problems, such as potential coverage or pricing issues. Be familiar with rating and provide quotes to prospects and existing clients. Follow-up with customers to obtain additional information to provide accurate quotes. Obtain the best price and protection for our clients. Ensure all quotes are documented and saved in the Sagitta system. Process all new business, renewal business, etc. in personal lines department in a timely manner. Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers. Make and receive calls from customers assisting them with their questions and resolving problems as appropriate. Make and receive calls from customers to facilitate personal insurance quotes. Handle policy maintenance (new, renewal, changes, binders, etc.) done in Sagitta in a timely manner. Bind coverage within binding authority. Be familiar with rating and provide quotes to prospects and existing clients. Follow-up with customers to obtain additional information to provide accurate quotes. Obtain the best price and protection for our clients. Ensure all quotes are documented and saved in the Sagitta system.

The Senior Account Executive will research, analyze, evaluate, and manage health, life, disability and other benefit plans as well as act as a benefit advisor to clients. This position requires that the candidate assume the role of lead consultant and primary point of contact for his or her book of business.

The ideal candidate will possess the following core competencies: A Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment for employee benefits and experience in an employee benefit advisory agency/broker practice, carrier, or benefit administrator position. Proficiency in multiple types of funding programs (i.e. Fully Insured, Self-Funded, Level Funded, Referenced Based Pricing) is required.

 

A successful Senior Account Executive must be self-sufficient in time management, is detail oriented, has strong relationship skills and can produce Excel reports to assist in maintaining their book of business. A deep knowledge of employee benefits and available options while managing multiple responsibilities in a timely manner is required.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day account management for mid to large sized clients that are routine to moderately complex client accounts.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned book of business.  Build, expand, and strengthen relationships with existing clients
  • Responsible for the day-to-day account management for routine to moderately complex client accounts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carrier representatives in order to better understand available products and services in the marketplace and make recommendations to clients
  • Anticipate client needs and identify the strategies to address them
  • Maintain consistent contact with all clients to ensure service and support needs are being met
  • Collaborate with all parties to resolve service issues that are not consistent with quality standards or acceptable levels of business practice
  • Review requests for proposals and insurance plan analyses, negotiate with carriers and recommend renewal action
  • Understand and articulate alternate funding strategies
  • Collaborate with the clinical, communications, data analytics, underwriting actuarial, etc. teams in the review of Self-Funded plan performance and the development of strategies to mitigate risk
  • Assist with the validation of enrollment, claims, and fixed fees for the data analytics report and provide them to Self-Funded clients on a monthly basis
  • Cultivate relationships with the most senior executives in the client organization as well as with day-to-day client representatives and buyers
  • Keep client abreast of all reporting and testing obligations (i.e. ACA, Form 5500, Annual Notices, Non-Discrimination Testing, Online CMS Form, Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage and Minimum Value Attestations, etc.) pertaining to employee benefits
  • Obtain copies of all governing documents, disclosures, and service agreements (i.e. Policies, Certificates, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents, Wrap Plans, Summary of Benefits and Coverage, Health & Welfare Notices, Summary Annual Reports, etc.) and ensure each document aligns with the current business practice of the client and the regulatory environment
  • Coordinate the development of communication pieces (i.e. Benefits Guide, Open Enrollment Presentation, Enrollment Kits, etc.)
  • Ensure all client data is entered in the CRM system in a timely matter.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years account management and/or claims management experience
    -OR-
    High School diploma/GED with 8 or more years client coordination and/or claims management experience
  • Appropriately licensed and/or certified
  • Travel to client locations outside the NY metropolitan area on a regular basis
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and MS Office
